Blackstone is an author, editor and playwright. He has written the Chicago-based novel ”The Week You Weren’t Here” and co-edited the anthology ”The Art of Friction”. His plays ”Rogers Party” and ”Corked” have been produced by Chicago-area theater companies. His short fiction has appeared in ”Esquire”, ”Bridge”, and ”The Journal of Experimental Fiction”. He has also contributed to ”Forbes.com” and ”Modern Luxury”. Blackstone and his wife, master sommelier and host of WTTW’s ”Check, Please!” Alpana Singh are planning on resurrecting the booze-and-book-infused ”Bookslut” reading series when she opens a new restaurant, ”The Boarding House”, in River North in late summer 2012. They reside in downtown Chicago.
